Tortoreto Lido

Tortoreto Lido is the coastal resort belonging to the hilltop town of Tortoreto Alto, sitting on the Teramo coast between Alba Adriatica and Giulianova. Its beach is a wide stretch of fine sand with a gently sloping seabed, backed by a palm-lined promenade, and it's long been one of the more popular family beaches on this part of the Riviera delle Palme.

Tortoreto shares the same hilltop-and-Lido structure found at Silvi further south: a medieval old town, Tortoreto Alto, sits inland on a hill with views over the coastline, while Tortoreto Lido below is the modern seaside resort where the beach life happens. The sand here is fine and light, continuous with the beaches at Alba Adriatica to the north and Giulianova to the south, and the seabed shelves gently enough to suit young children.\n\nA long run of beach concessions covers most of Tortoreto Lido's shore, offering sunbed and umbrella rental, watersports and beachfront bars, with free public stretches at intervals. The seafront promenade, lined with palms, has a cycling path that connects easily to the neighbouring resort towns, making it simple to explore this section of the Riviera delle Palme without needing a car for every stop.\n\nTortoreto Alto, the old town above, adds a change of pace with narrow medieval streets and views back down over the coast - a worthwhile short trip from the beach, particularly in the cooler evening hours when the hilltop stays more comfortable than the seafront below.
