Overview
Martinsicuro sits at the very top of the Abruzzo coast, its beach running right up to the Tronto river, which marks the regional border with Marche. The sand is fine and the seabed gently sloping, continuous with the beaches further south along the Riviera delle Palme, and the town's position at the edge of two regions makes it a natural stop for anyone travelling between them.

Free public sections run alongside paid beach concessions (stabilimenti) with sunbed rental, accessed from the seafront promenade.

How to get there
By train: Martinsicuro station, on the Adriatic line, is close to the seafront and a short walk from the beach.
By bus: Local buses connect Martinsicuro with Alba Adriatica and, across the border, San Benedetto del Tronto in Marche.
Parking: By car: Exit the A14 at Val Vibrata and follow signs for Martinsicuro on the coast, at the northern tip of Abruzzo. Paid and free parking is available along the seafront and nearby streets, generally easier to find than at the busiest resorts further south.
On foot: The seafront promenade and cycle path run along the beach, connecting south toward Alba Adriatica and Tortoreto.

Martinsicuro takes its name from a medieval defensive tower, the Torre di Carlo V, still standing near the seafront and a reminder of the coast's long history of watching for seaborne raids. Today the beach itself is a straightforward sandy resort stretch, similar in character to Alba Adriatica just to the south, with fine sand and a shallow, gently sloping seabed that suits families.\n\nBeach concessions line most of the shore, offering the standard range of sunbed rental, watersports and beachfront bars, with free public sections at intervals. The seafront promenade and cycle path run along the beach and connect south toward Alba Adriatica and Tortoreto, while the Tronto river mouth at the town's northern edge marks a natural end point to the Abruzzo coastline before Marche and the beaches around San Benedetto del Tronto begin.\n\nBecause it sits right on the regional border, Martinsicuro works well both as a standalone beach stop and as a base for exploring into Marche, with San Benedetto del Tronto and its own well-known seafront just a short distance north.
