Pineto

Pineto's beach combines fine golden sand with one of the best-preserved stretches of coastal pine forest in Abruzzo, the Riserva Naturale Regionale Pineta di Pineto, which runs along much of the shoreline. The beach has held Blue Flag status for years, and the pine wood behind it gives Pineto a shadier, greener seafront than most of the neighbouring resort towns on the Teramo coast.

The Pineta di Pineto reserve protects a band of maritime pine forest planted in the early 20th century to stabilise the dunes and coastline, and it now runs for several kilometres directly behind the beach, criss-crossed by shaded paths popular with walkers and cyclists. Unlike the fully built-up seafronts at Montesilvano or Alba Adriatica, much of Pineto's shore keeps this green buffer between the beach and the town, giving it a more relaxed, less densely developed feel.\n\nThe beach itself is fine sand with a gently sloping seabed, and it has held Blue Flag certification for water quality and beach management for many years running. Beach concessions line most of the sand, offering the standard sunbed and umbrella rental alongside stretches of free public beach, and the pine reserve behind provides useful shade for breaks from the sun that's harder to find at more exposed beaches nearby.\n\nPineto sits between Silvi to the south and Roseto degli Abruzzi to the north, connected by the same seafront cycle path that runs along most of this part of the coast, so it's an easy stop to combine with either neighbouring beach town on a longer coastal trip.
