Acquaviva is one of the more accessible beaches on Elba's northern coast, a small sand-and-pebble cove a short drive from Portoferraio along the same stretch of road that continues on to Sansone and Sorgente. Its name "living water" refers to a freshwater spring close to the shore that was used for centuries to top up drinking water on passing ships, a detail that gives the beach some historical interest beyond its swimming. The cove itself is compact, with shallower water near the shore than some of its rockier neighbours, and it's a common stop for families and casual swimmers who want an easy in-and-out visit rather than a full day trip further along the coast. Roadside parking is the main access point, which means the beach can feel busy in peak season when spaces fill up early. There is a small bar/snack point in season, giving it a bit more infrastructure than some of the wilder coves nearby, though it remains modest compared with Elba's larger resort beaches.
