By train: Francavilla al Mare station, on the Adriatic line, is a short walk from the beach and seafront promenade.

By bus: Local and regional buses connect Francavilla al Mare with Pescara and other coastal towns, stopping along the seafront.

Parking: By car: Exit the A14 at Francavilla al Mare or Pescara and follow the coast road; the seafront and beach concessions are signposted throughout town. Paid parking is widely available along the seafront and side streets, though it fills up quickly in peak summer.

On foot: The Lungomare promenade and its cycling path run the length of the beach, linking Francavilla directly to Pescara on foot or by bike.

Francavilla al Mare grew up as a resort in the 1800s, drawing artists and writers - the painter Francesco Paolo Michetti had his studio here, and Gabriele D'Annunzio was a regular visitor - and that legacy still shapes the town's identity as one of the Adriatic's more storied seaside destinations. The beach itself runs for roughly eight kilometres along the coast, divided between Piazza Sirena and Piazza Adriatico, both of which have held Blue Flag status in recent years.\n\nThe sand is fine and the seabed shelves gently, making it comfortable for a full beach day rather than a quick dip.
