Vasto Marina

Vasto Marina is the lively, fully-equipped sandy beach that runs along the coast below the hilltop old town of Vasto, distinct from the wilder, undeveloped Punta Aderci nature reserve just to the north. The beach - locally centred around the San Antonio Stella stretch - has fine sand, a gentle seabed and a long run of beach concessions, making it one of the more complete resort beaches in southern Abruzzo.

Vasto's old town sits on a bluff overlooking the Adriatic, a fortified hilltop settlement with Roman and medieval roots, while Vasto Marina below is the modern seaside extension where almost all the summer beach life happens. The sand here is fine and pale, and the seabed shelves gently enough to suit families, with the beach organised mostly around paid concessions offering sunbeds, umbrellas and watersports rental alongside free public sections.\n\nA seafront promenade with a cycling path runs the length of Vasto Marina, connecting south toward San Salvo and north toward the Punta Aderci reserve, so it's easy to pair a day at the resort beach with a walk or ride into the wilder dunes further along the coast. The old town above, reachable by a short drive or a funicular-style connection in parts, adds restaurants, historic palazzi and views back down over the coastline.\n\nBecause Vasto Marina is one of the more established resort stretches in this part of Abruzzo, it has the full range of summer infrastructure - lifeguards, extensive rental, beachfront bars and restaurants - making it a reliable, straightforward choice for a beach holiday based in or near Vasto.
