Marina di San Vito

Marina di San Vito is the sandy, well-equipped beach and small working harbour at the foot of San Vito Chietino, distinct from the tiny pebble cove of Spiaggia del Turchino tucked into the cliffs nearby. It's a longer, more open stretch of fine sand with a gentle seabed, backed by beach concessions, restaurants and the town's fishing harbour, making it the practical base for a beach day on this part of the Costa dei Trabocchi.

San Vito Chietino's old town sits on the cliffs above, connected to Marina di San Vito below by a road and footpaths that wind down through the terraced hillside. The Marina itself combines a proper sandy beach with a small harbour used by local fishing boats, giving the area a more working, lived-in feel than some purely tourist-oriented resort beaches further along the coast.\n\nThe beach's fine sand and gently sloping seabed make it comfortable for families, and a run of stabilimenti along the shore offers the usual sunbed and umbrella rental, alongside free public sections. Restaurants near the harbour serve fresh, locally caught fish, and the trabocco platforms visible along the coast in both directions - including examples near Rocca San Giovanni to the south - give a sense of the traditional fishing techniques still associated with this stretch.\n\nMarina di San Vito connects via the Sentiero Verde della Costa dei Trabocchi cycling and walking path to Fossacesia, Rocca San Giovanni and other beaches along the coast, making it a workable hub for a multi-beach day without relying on the car for every stop.
