Piani di Bobbio is widely considered the closest ski resort to Milan, reached by gondola from Barzio in the Valsassina. It's a small, practical ski area rather than a destination resort, popular for quick days out and among the more budget-friendly options in Italy.
There's a good amount of gentle, wide terrain suited to beginners and families, particularly around the mid-mountain area.

Most of the resort's pistes are groomed intermediate runs, making up the bulk of the terrain.
Advanced
3pistes
Advanced terrain is limited - Piani di Bobbio is better suited to beginners, families and casual intermediates than to a challenging day out.

Snow Reliability
As a lower-altitude, close-to-Milan resort, Piani di Bobbio's natural snow can vary year to year; snowmaking on the main runs helps keep conditions usable through a normal season.
