Folgaria

Description

Folgaria sits on the Alpe Cimbra plateau above Rovereto, a gentler, more budget-friendly counterpart to Trentino's bigger Alpine names. Its pistes, shared on one skipass with neighbouring Fiorentini and Lavarone, lean heavily toward easy and intermediate cruising with close to full snowmaking coverage. The plateau is also scattered with genuine First World War fortifications - including Forte Belvedere-Gschwent, the largest Austro-Hungarian fort built here and the only one never destroyed - a reminder that this stretch of mountains once sat on the Alpine front line.
