More about Fiumicello Beach

Fiumicello Beach is one of the best beaches in Maratea if you want a balance of scenery and convenience. It does not have the same dramatic black-sand look as Spiaggia Nera, but it is much easier for a relaxed beach day. The beach sits in a sheltered coastal setting, with clear water and a pebbly shoreline. It is popular with families, couples and visitors staying in Maratea who want a beach with facilities nearby. In summer, the beach clubs make it simple to spend the day here with sunbeds, umbrellas and food close at hand. Fiumicello is particularly useful if you are travelling with children or do not want to deal with difficult access. Some Maratea beaches involve steep paths, steps or more limited facilities, but Fiumicello is one of the more straightforward options. The water is usually clear and inviting, especially on calm days. Like many beaches along this stretch of coast, the seabed can be pebbly, so water shoes are recommended. It is a good beach for swimming, relaxing and spending a few hours by the sea without needing too much planning. In July and August, Fiumicello can get busy, especially during weekends and the middle of the day. For a calmer experience, arrive early or visit in June or September, when the weather is still warm but the beach feels more relaxed.
