Long, sandy, family-friendly beach in a medieval seaside village.
Noli combines a wide, gently shelving sandy beach with one of Liguria's best-preserved medieval old towns. Excellent for families and easily reached by train and bus.
Large free public sections
Beach clubs available: Yes — sunbeds and umbrellas can usually be rented in season.
By train: Spotorno-Noli railway station - then continue by short local bus or taxi to Noli. The station sits slightly inland, so a transfer is needed to reach the historic seaside centre
By bus: Direct buses run regularly from Savona and nearby coastal towns along the SS1 Aurelia, stopping close to the village centre and beachfront area. This is a convenient option if travelling without a car
Parking: Paid parking available along the seafront and in designated areas near the town centre - spaces are limited in summer, especially on weekends due to the popularity of the historic village and beach
On foot: Easy, flat walk along the seafront directly to Spiaggia di Noli
Spiaggia di Noli is one of the most appealing beaches on the Riviera di Ponente if you want a mix of sea, history and village atmosphere. Set in front of the medieval town of Noli, between Spotorno and Varigotti, the beach has clear water, a sand-and-pebble shoreline and a beautiful backdrop of old town streets, towers and Ligurian hills. The beach is a good choice if you want something more relaxed and practical than the smaller coves around Varigotti, while still being close to some of the most scenic coastline in western Liguria. Noli works well for swimming, sunbathing and spending the whole day by the sea, with restaurants, cafés and gelato shops just a short walk from the beach. Spiaggia di Noli is mainly a mix of sand, gravel and small pebbles, so it is more comfortable than many rocky Ligurian beaches, although water shoes can still be useful near the shoreline. There are public beach areas as well as managed beach clubs, giving you the option of a simple free beach day or a more comfortable setup with sunbeds and umbrellas. One of the best things about Noli is that the beach sits directly beside one of Liguria’s most charming historic villages. You can swim in the morning, wander through the old town for lunch, stop for gelato in the afternoon, and stay for aperitivo or dinner after the beach. It feels like a proper seaside day rather than just a quick swim stop. Noli is easiest to reach by car or by bus from nearby towns such as Spotorno, Finale Ligure and Savona. There is no train station directly in Noli, so if you are travelling without a car, the nearest useful stations are usually Spotorno-Noli or Finale Ligure Marina, followed by a local bus or taxi. For the best experience, visit Spiaggia di Noli in May, June or September, when the weather is warm but the beach and town are less crowded. In July and August, arrive early if you want parking or a good spot on the public beach.
