A sheltered sandy bay near Peschici, framed by a sea cave and traditional wooden trabucco.
Spiaggia di San Nicola sits a short drive from Peschici on the Gargano peninsula, a 600-metre sandy bay with a shallow, gently sloping seabed. It's bordered by a natural sea cave to the east and a traditional trabucco fishing platform to the west, giving it more character than a typical resort beach. The calm, clear water makes it a solid choice for families.
Free public beach reached via a signed turn-off from the Peschici-Vieste road towards Contrada Valle Scinni, ending at a large parking area near the sand.

San Nicola is one of the more scenic bays near Peschici, framed on either side by features that set it apart: a natural cave cut into the cliffs to the east, and a trabucco - one of the old wooden fishing structures unique to this stretch of the Adriatic - to the west. The sand is fine and golden, and the water shifts from emerald green to deep blue depending on the light. The seabed slopes gently and stays shallow for some distance, which is the main reason this beach works so well for families with children. Facilities have developed accordingly: restaurants, changing cabins, sunbed and umbrella hire, toilets and showers are all present. Getting there involves a short drive from Peschici along the road towards Vieste, then a turn towards Contrada Valle Scinni down to a large parking area near the beach. It's not a beach you stumble into on foot from town - a car (or taxi) is the practical way in. San Nicola suits a relaxed family beach day with a bit more visual interest than a plain stretch of sand, thanks to the cave and trabucco bookending the bay - a good stop if you're exploring the Peschici side of the Gargano coast.
