Beach clubs available: Limited or seasonal — sunbeds and umbrellas may be available in summer.

Sunbeds and umbrellas may be available in season, but this is more of a small cove than a classic beach-club beach.

How to get there

By train: Can't reach by train but boat trips and water taxis operate from the marina area in season. This is one of the most scenic ways to arrive or continue along the coast.

By bus: SITA buses run along the Amalfi Coast road between towns such as Positano, Praiano and Amalfi. Get off near Marina di Praia and walk down towards the cove.

Parking: Marina di Praia can be reached from the coastal road, but parking is limited and can be difficult in high season. A scooter is easier than a car, but you should still arrive early.

On foot: If you are staying nearby in Praiano, you may be able to walk down to Marina di Praia, but expect steep roads and steps depending on where you are staying.

Practical tips

This is a great beach for combining sea, food and boat trips, rather than a huge all-day sunbathing setup. Arrive early if you want space on the beach, or come later in the day for a swim followed by dinner.

More about Marina di Praia

Marina di Praia is one of the most distinctive beaches on the Amalfi Coast. Instead of a wide stretch of sand, it is a tiny pebbly cove tucked between high cliffs, with fishing boats pulled up by the water and restaurants built into the rocks around it. It feels more like a small seaside village corner than a typical beach, which is exactly why it is worth visiting. The beach is small, so it is not the place to come if you want lots of space. In summer, a few rows of towels and sunbeds can quickly make it feel full. But the setting is beautiful: steep rock walls, clear water, little boats and the relaxed rhythm of Praiano, which feels calmer than Positano or Amalfi. Marina di Praia works especially well if you want to combine a swim with lunch or dinner by the sea. Several restaurants sit right by the cove and along the short coastal walkway, making it one of the best Amalfi Coast beaches for a long seafood lunch or sunset aperitivo. Positano.com describes Marina di Praia as a pebble beach below the cliffs, with restaurants and a coastal walk starting from the beach. It is also a useful base for getting out on the water. Boat trips, water taxis and shuttle boats often leave from Marina di Praia, including services towards other Praiano beach clubs and coastal spots. La Gavitella notes that Marina di Praia can be reached by car, scooter or bus from Amalfi or Positano, and that shuttle boats depart from there. For the best experience, do not treat Marina di Praia as a full beach-club day unless you have booked something specific. Come for a swim, lunch, a boat trip, or an early evening drink by the water. It is small, scenic and very Amalfi Coast - but it is not a beach where you spread out for hours in peace during August.
