Laurito Beach is one of the smaller beaches near Positano, and that is a big part of its appeal. Hidden below the coastal road, it feels more tucked away than Marina Grande or Fornillo, with a compact pebbly shore, clear water and a handful of places to eat right by the sea. The beach is not large, so it is not the place to come if you want lots of space. In summer, the beach clubs and restaurants take up much of the shoreline, and the free area can be very limited. But if you are looking for a smaller cove with a more relaxed atmosphere, Laurito is a lovely alternative to Positano’s busier beaches. The water is clear and usually good for swimming, especially on calm days. Like most beaches on this part of the Amalfi Coast, the shore is pebbly rather than sandy, so water shoes are useful. The setting feels intimate and sheltered, with cliffs behind the beach and boats passing along the coast. Laurito works especially well if you want to combine a swim with lunch. Several visitors come for the restaurants as much as the beach itself, making it a good choice for a slow afternoon by the water rather than a full beach-club day. It is also a nice option for couples who want something quieter than central Positano without travelling too far. Access is part of what keeps Laurito feeling slightly hidden. You can reach it by stairs from the road, but the walk back up can be tiring in the heat. In season, boat shuttles connected to beach clubs or restaurants may be available, which can make the visit much easier and more memorable.
