Baia dei Saraceni is one of the most scenic beaches near Varigotti and one of the best-known swimming spots on the Riviera di Ponente. Set between Varigotti, Punta Crena and the cliffs towards Capo Noli, it is loved for its clear blue water, pale pebble-and-sand shoreline and dramatic coastal setting. The beach is ideal if you are looking for clear water, snorkelling and a more natural Ligurian beach atmosphere than a typical town beach. On calm days, the sea can be beautifully transparent, making Baia dei Saraceni one of the most photogenic places to swim near Finale Ligure. Although it feels natural, Baia dei Saraceni is not a hidden beach. It sits close to the Via Aurelia coastal road and gets very busy in July and August, especially at weekends. For easier parking and fewer crowds, arrive early in the morning or later in the afternoon. The shoreline is mostly pebbles and small stones mixed with lighter sand, so water shoes are useful. The beach is excellent for swimming and snorkelling, but it can feel compact in high season, so it is better for a scenic swim than a quiet, spacious beach day. Baia dei Saraceni is easiest to reach by car, although parking is limited and fills quickly. Without a car, the nearest useful train station is Finale Ligure Marina, with bus or taxi connections towards Varigotti and Malpasso. Staying in Varigotti, Finale Ligure or Noli makes the visit much easier. For the best experience, visit in May, June or September, when the weather is warm but the crowds are more manageable. In peak summer, treat Baia dei Saraceni as a popular must-see beach rather than a secret cove.
